ABSTRACT
Objetive: To compare the incidence of pressure injuries (PI) in patients admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during the first three months since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic with the same period of the previous year.
Design: Historical cohort study.
Discussion and conclusions:
The incidence of PI in ICU has been much higher in the three months since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COMHON Index moving average is useful for estimating whether the critical patient with COVID-19 is protected against PI.
We recommend studying the factors that are related to the incidence found.
