Methods: Cross sectional study observational and descriptive. Data collection for 4 consecutive weeks to patients with scheduled procedures in the Unit.

Results: 40% of patients report not being informed about the diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is performed. 69% do not have the informed consent document signed. These conditions occur especially in patients from Medical Services, more than in Surgical Services.

Conclusions: The unrest generated for patient misinformation implies delays studies to spend time to answer questions that occasionally exceed the competence of nurses. It should improve the quality of care adapting the information provided, in time and proceeding to registration.
